NB2A Microcontroller Board
The NB2A is a physical computing development system that is compatible
with the Arduino software environment (with the Sanguino add-ons). For system development a
variety of peripheral modules are available.
Features
- Replaceable and upgradeable CPU
- Compatible with the Arduino development tools (with Sanguino add-ons).
- ATmega644P running at 12MHz with a Vcc of 3.3V.
- 3.55" x 2.15". Fits in the "standard" Altoids tin.
- Atmega I/O, DAC and RTC connections are wired to a single header.
Application boards can be mounted parallel using vertical
connectors, co-planar using right-angle connectors or remotely
using a cable.

- Two channels, 12 bits per channel.
- Reference -- 1.225V, ±0.1% (initial accuracy), 100ppm/°C max drift,

- Real-Time Clock (RTC) counts Seconds,
Minutes, Hours, Day, Date, Month, and Year
with Leap-Year Compensation Valid Up to
2100
- Two Time-of-Day Alarms
- Programmable Square-Wave Output
- Powered by a CR1220 coin cell.
- I2C Serial Interface
- The board can be built with either a USB interface
or with a six pin header for use with an USB to serial cable.
The USB interface circuitry includes transient
suppression.
- ICSP port (3.3V levels)
- A/D reference supply filtered per Atmel specification.
- Reset circuit per Atmel specification.
- Power supply is jumpered between either an LDO or an external
3.3V supply. The LDO input is diode or'ed from a wall adapter or the
USB 5V supply.
- Accessories include a prototyping board NB2A-PB1,
a terminal board NB2A-TB1 and a
Li-Ion battery charger (Q1-2010).
NB2A Pricing
The NB2A (and peripherals) will be released in January. A draft
version of the datasheet (with assembly instructions) is complete. The
PCBs and remaining components are on order. There are no changes
required to the PCB and no component availability issues.
A preliminary datasheet and a small number of NB2A kits are

Accessories
The FTDI USB to Serial Cable
TTL-232R-3V3 is required to program
the NB2A built with NB2A-KIT2. NB2A-KIT3 includes the surface mount components
to build the on-board USB interface.
